Assist with the planning development implementation evaluation writing and dissemination of research projects focused on genomics precision public health and implementation science. This position combines research management and academic research skills requiring judgment and discretion in performing assigned duties.
Characteristic Work
- Work with the PI and senior staff to coordinate the successful and timely completion of tasks that comprise the implementation data collection and analysis phases of the project to include but not be limited to planning development implementation evaluation writing and dissemination of study finding involving population genomics precision health interventions and communityengaged research.
- Work with project PI or senior personnel to ensure that all aspects of the study are conducted in accordance with the study protocol and grant/contract. Ensure that all study activities comply with state and federal regulations and guidelines as well as all requirements of the Medical School and University.
- Train and instruct study personnel on research procedures including methodologies relevant to genomics research and communitybased precision health interventions.
- Participate in site visits when appropriate (e.g. for multisite studies).
- Assist in preparing study progress reports monitoring quality control and ensuring adherence to implementation science frameworks in research design.
- Assist in preparation of posters for study/project(s) and in preparation of posters for national and local scientific meetings.
- Attend and participate in meetings related to the planning operation and evaluation of the study/project as needed.
- Perform literature reviews and write summaries focused on translating genomic research findings into public health impact.
- Contribute to the writing of scientific papers for publication from study results.
- Participate in the writing of new/additional grant proposals related to genomic screening health equity in precision medicine and technology integration into learning health systems.
- Assist with the budget preparation for new grants and/or projects.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Supervision Received and Given
- Oral and/or written instructions are received from supervising faculty or senior research staff.
- Provide direction/guidance to support staff.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
- Masters degree with at least four years of relevant research experience in public health genetic counseling epidemiology implementation science or a related field; or equivalent education/experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of scientific principles especially related to genomics implementation science and precision public health.
- Strong computer skills including experience with data analysis software (e.g. R SAS Stata) and/or qualitative analysis tools (e.g. NVivo .
- Strong communication skills.
- At least one letter of recommendation from faculty.
Additional Desirable Qualifications
- Supervisory ability and experience mentoring students or research staff.
- Prior research experience conducting genomics or precision public health research health equity studies or community engaged research.
- Experience beyond the minimum required.
- Teaching experience.
- Public speaking experience.
- Prior participation in the preparation of grant proposals.
- Peer reviewed publications and/or oral or poster presentations at national meetings.
