Join Our Team as a Therapy Manager!

Are you a passionate healthcare professional with leadership experience looking to make a meaningful impact in community care CarePartners is seeking a Therapy Manager to provide professional and clinical leadership to our therapy staff across the Waterloo Wellington region. In this role you will support a dedicated team of therapists and assistants ensuring highquality care while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and patient safety. This is a FullTime position. Hours of work will be MondayFriday as well as participation in the Branch Manager OnCall which includes evenings and weekends on a rotational basis.

What The Role Involves

Our leadership team plays a critical role in providing high quality patient care mentoring our health care teams and inspiring others.

  • Provides professional and clinical leadership to direct report Therapy staff (visiting and virtual) in the assigned regions
  • As required acts as a liaison between staff the Therapy Program Lead and their respective colleges regarding standards of practice etc.
  • Models and fosters a total customer service approach toward all clients and customers
  • Functions as a selfdirected leader who is able to work closely with others as well as independently
  • Ensures qualified and adequate staffing to meet regional needs and facilitate appropriate care in a fiscally responsible manner
  • Ensures a functioning system for staff to fill in vacant shifts such as weekend support and vacation coverages
  • Translates strategic goals into practical actions
  • Conducts objective and constructive performance reviews including clinical reviews as scheduled
  • Functions as a pivotal communicator in the agency acting as a direct link between Therapy staff and all other members of management
  • Actively facilitates communication between Therapy staff management team members and all customer and client groups
  • Is responsible in conjunction with senior management for cost management within the assigned regions
  • Demonstrates consideration and awareness of financial costs
  • Participates in the managers 24 hour/7day call rotation for the designated regions by carrying a handheld device and responding to call/messages promptly and appropriately
  • Identifies monitors and problem solves around issues of productivity
  • Actively involved with all safety and quality issues in the region and agency
  • Promotes and participates in CarePartners Continuous Quality Improvement Program and Risk Management Program
  • Participates on internal councils including Quality Council as well as external councils established by the funders provincial healthcare bodies and local educational institutions
  • Promotes employee health and safety and ensures the agency meets all requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Conducts both short term and longrange planning for the regions
  • Demonstrate flexibility and ability to carry forward long term projects as well as deal with daily issues and crises
  • Supports patient safety initiatives and practices in collaboration with the Program Lead through education of staff via formal inservices during staff meetings and coaching during work with visits.
  • Evaluates staff knowledge and application of patient safety practices and works with staff to develop improvement plans where there are gaps in knowledge.
  • Encourages reporting of events by staff where patient safety has been compromised and works with staff to develop solutions to prevent similar events.
  • Demonstrates initiative by creatively solving problems and actively looking for innovative solutions
  • Performs other related work as assigned

What You Bring

  • Registered Healthcare Professional with current membership in good standing with applicable regulatory college in Ontario
  • Demonstrated leadership experience minimum 1 year
  • Knowledge of community health sector; community experience is an asset
  • Proven computer skills including email word processing work scheduling systems
  • Demonstrated ability to review clinical work according to professional standards and practice guidelines
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form and must be fluent in English
  • Proven computer skills including email word processing work scheduling systems
  • Thorough knowledge of case management skills and nursing processes and practices
  • Vehicle is required and some regular travel is required
  • French language skills are an asset
  • Clear Background and Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Valid drivers license access to a reliable vehicle and appropriate insurance
