About the Job:
We are seeking an experienced and detailoriented Accountant to join a growing tea exporting company based in Rajagiriya. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling full accounting functions including taxation and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience including at a senior level. A part or full qualification in CIMA CA or an equivalent qualification is required. Experience in exportrelated accounting will be considered a strong advantage.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the full spectrum of accounting functions including general ledger accounts payable/receivable and payroll.
- Prepare and review financial statements reports and tax filings in compliance with local regulations and company policies.
- Oversee monthend and yearend closing processes ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Handle all aspects of taxation including VAT income tax and other related duties.
- Monitor and manage cash flow ensuring efficient use of financial resources.
- Prepare budgets forecasts and financial analysis to support business decisions.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with auditors tax authorities and other relevant stakeholders.
- Assist in implementing and improving internal controls and accounting systems.
- Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff.
- Review and ensure accuracy in exportrelated financial records including foreign currency transactions customs duties and shipping costs.
Qualifications:
- Part or full qualification in CIMA CA or an equivalent accounting qualification.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting including seniorlevel experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles financial reporting and taxation.
- Experience in managing full accounting functions and handling taxation matters.
- Previous experience in exportrelated accounting will be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical problemsolving and organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fastpaced environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with crossfunctional teams.
