North River Collaborative198 Spring StreetRockland MA 02370JOB POSTINGPOSITION/TITLE:Physical Therapist (PT)PROGRAM/LOCATION:North River Collaborative Learning Center Program Locations and Local DistrictsSTART DATE:AugustSummer Hours TBD)LENGTH OF POSITION:Eleven month schedule full schoolyear 183 days) and summer hours (six weeks) as SCHEDULE:Certified Teacher/Licensed TherapistQUALIFICATIONS:Masters or DPT in physical therapy from an accredited from the Massachusetts Board of Allied Health of current and ongoing professional or more years of schoolbased and/or pediatric experience TO:Coordinator of District Services SUPERVISES: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) PT/PTA students when assigned EVALUATION:Staff evaluation will be implemented as outlined in the North River Collaborative Personnel Policies and Procedures RESPONSIBILITIES:A. INSTRUCTIONAL/DIRECT SERVICEPerform contextual observations and screenings as requested to determine if barriers that limit student participation within the school environment exist and if further PT evaluation is assessment and evaluation procedures for referred students in accordance with special education regulations and Collaborative policies and procedures including functional motor performance and environmental analysis and make recommendations to improve the fit for greater access progress and participation. Use appropriate developmental scales informal assessments contextual observations and/or standardized tests to evaluate the student in contextually relevant physical therapy areas. Synthesize evaluation results into a comprehensive written report which reflects strengths and barriers to student participation in the educational environment. Communicate results of observations screenings and evaluations and other PT reports to the educational staff parents students (when appropriate) administrators or others as needed. In conjunction with the team contribute to the Individualized Educational and develop evidencebased interventions in the least restrictive environment including compensation remediation and prevention strategies and adaptations focusing on functional mobility and safe efficient access and participation in educational activities and routines in natural learning environments. Evaluate treatment effectiveness through observation data collection and analysis reevaluation and communication with other staff members. Revise intervention plan and goals as necessary. Plan and implement gross motor groups to Learning Center classrooms as part of the integrated service delivery therapy in the least restrictive and appropriate setting based on individual needs of treatment effectiveness through observation data collection and analysis reevaluation and communication with other staff members. Complete progress reports annual reviews and threeyear reevaluations and other reports as with educators and other school staff to offer curricular and environmental modifications to support student access. Support diverse learning training to educators parents and other school staff as needed to support implementation of recommended procedures adaptations or students other educational goals across school construct and/or adapt equipment to meet the educational and environmental needs of the ensure the proper and safe use of positioning and mobility equipment and identify maintenance and/or replacement an inventory of PT equipment and supplies and keep equipment and supplies clean and with outside professionals or agencies as related to students educational needs and in accordance with confidentiality as a resource to students parents and staff members who wish to further their understanding of physical therapy.B. DOCUMENTATION EVALUATION AND COMMUNICATIONSubmit all written evaluation reports goals and objectives on a timely student attendance progress monitoring thirdparty billing and other documentation current and progress reports annual reviews and threeyear reevaluations and other reports as needed. Provide input for the development of the department program or district budget as by established work hours and follow policies and procedures outlined in the North River Collaborative Personnel Policies & Procedures with parents as needed to help them better understand the role of the PT in the school setting including the students individual education plan. Provide home suggestions when meetings as requested.C. HEALTH AND SAFETYRespond to the needs of individual students so as to enhance their social/emotional health and personal to situations in a culturally proficient manner taking into account a whole student training apply deescalation strategies as necessary to prevent a student from harming themselves or able to safely lift students up to 50 lbs independently and assist in lifting students up to 100 able to physically assist students during activities such as: toileting personal hygiene transfers in/out of adaptive equipment and mechanical lifts and other selfcare tasks as able to move with reasonable speed and physically assist students during any emergency drills or actual able to safely and effectively participate in de escalation training and to safely perform physical escort and restraints as needed once to safely and effectively participate in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training if requested and to safely perform CPR as needed once trained.D. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENTDevelop student learning and professional practice goals as indicated based on evaluation in Collaborative and/or member district program development or goals as and provide a record of attendance of relevant professional development to keep abreast of trends and recent developments in the field of physical therapy/schoolbased and participate in inservice training programs and department/program meetings as up to date on current technology for enhancing student success professional collaboration and efficiency.E. ETHICALMaintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students. Maintain professional attitudes and productive relationships with other staff and parents and professionals with the rights of each student and family. Respond constructively to feedback and goal oriented coaching. F. OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED BY THE PROGRAM COORDINATOR
