SUMMARY
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION and RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
Experience in a custodian role focused on building upkeep and with great physical endurance to cover a large space.

Follow routine cleaning and maintenance procedures to maintain a high standard of safety cleanliness and efficiency of building operations and grounds.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. Employees are employed by the District; therefore employees will be assigned to any campus during the year as deemed in the best interest for Custodial Services. The employee is responsible for their mode of transportation to report to assigned locations of which the District is not responsible for accidents nor expenses incurred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

LANGUAGE/MATHEMATICAL/READING SKILLS:
Ability to read and understanding instructions for cleaning maintenance and safety procedures. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide. Ability to determine weight measurement volume and distance.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral or diagram or schedule form.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
Occasional absences are understood but regular attendance is required.
The employee must maintain emotional control under stress.
While performing the duties of this job the employee works outside and inside on slippery and uneven surfaces and ladders. The employee is exposed to hot and cold temperatures dust toxic chemicals and materials. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
While performing the duties of this job strenuous walking standing climbing and heavy lifting and carrying are required of the employee. Specific vision abilities require close vision distance vision depth perception peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus. This position requires interacting with the public and staff.
