CLAIMS EXAMINER
The Claims Examiner will be a key member of the National Insurance Operations team reporting to our Claims Manager. You will collaborate with partners and clients to resolve property and casualty claims.
Here is what a typical day looks like
- Review and interpret policy wordings and parameters to determine if coverage is inforce and triggered by the loss
- Manage claims settlement process with independent adjusters; providing recommendations and direction for negotiation and settlement within authority provided by insurers
- Perform in house adjustment of claims within authority granted by provincial authorities and insurers
- Set and maintain accurate loss and expense reserves based upon investigation and/or recommendations; including validating independent adjusters or insurers reserve calculations and advising of discrepancies
- Perform business interruption calculations
- Provide feedback to Underwriters Risk Management and Brokerage teams on claims frequency and physical hazards
- Maintain and action abeyance files and payment schedules
- Draft and distribute correspondence to insureds insurers third party claimants adjusters and other industry members
The value you bring
- General Insurance Level 2 License required RIBO license preferred
- Working towards your CIP or CAIB preferred
- Minimum 5years experience working with Claims in the insurance industry
- Clear professional communication both verbal and written
- Knowledge of MS products including Word Excel Outlook
Hours: Full Time 37.5 hours/week
Location: Remote within Canada
Salary Range: $61000 $80000
