About Corewell Health Wayne Hospital
Corewell Health Wayne Hospital opened its doors to western Wayne communities in 1957. This fullservice hospital is the only hospital in the Wayne Westland Garden City Canton Inkster and Romulus area verified by the American College of Surgeons as a Level III Trauma Center. The hospital has a longstanding partnership with Detroit Metropolitan Airport and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to handle a wide variety of health and communicable disease concerns including mass trauma and emergency patients.
Scope of work
Under the supervision of a Registered Respiratory Therapist provides care to patients with acute and chronic illness by administering various therapeutic modalities and by providing reinforcement for the education and instruction developed in the patient care plan. Follows the patient care plan as developed by the registered respiratory therapist adhering to protocols for the delivery of medication and oxygen setups/titration. Set up and monitor patients placed on noninvasive ventilation (depending on site). Equipment processing including high level disinfection of reusable supplies oxygen tank maintenance replenishing of par levels as needed. Performs chart review for verification of orders; provide electronic documentation; provide reinforcement of patient and family education.
