Position Summary
Bow Valley College is looking for enthusiastic Day Camp Leaders to deliver engaging predeveloped camp programs for kids aged 815.
Camps will be delivered for the following programs:
Game Design
Coding
Animation
Filmmaking

To be considered candidate(s) must be a current student enrolled in a postsecondary program related to camp program areas (such as Centre of Entertainment Arts) education social work child care/child development recreation or related.
Position responsibilities and accountabilities include but are not limited to:
Leads and delivers preplanned camp activities with enthusiasm.
Creates a positive inclusive and safe space for all campers.
Supervises camp participants during activities transitions and breaks.
Manages group dynamics and ensures active participation.
Assists with camp administration and logistics such as attendance and washroom breaks.
Works closely with cofacilitators to ensure smooth program delivery.
Maintains clear and professional communication with parents guardians and camp participants.
Ensures that supervisors are informed/provided documentation of any incidents occurring within program.
Safety and Supervision Maintaining a safe and organized space; following protocols and managing group behavior effectively.
Instruction and Delivering activities clearly and keeping camp participants on track; adapt lessons based on camper needs and troubleshoot challenges effectively.
Teamwork and Communication Collaborating well with other staff; Communicate any issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
Camper/Parent or Guardian Experience & Feedback Ensuring camp participants are engaged learning and having fun.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma
To be considered candidate(s) must be a current postsecondary student enrolled in a postsecondary program related to camp program areas (such as Centre of Entertainment Arts) education social work child care/child development recreation or related.
Experience working with children or youth programs.
Strong communication leadership and problemsolving skills.
Ability to engage youth and keep energy levels high.
Conditions of Employment
Clear Police Information Check including a vulnerable sector
First Aid & CPR certification
Upon hire documentation of being a current student enrolled in a postsecondary program
If your education was received internationally we will require you provide an international education assessment through IQAS WES or one of the other nationally designated organizations upon hire.
This opening is a casual Employment Contract position. Please note all successful candidates will be required to provide copies of government issued identification and proof of educational qualifications upon hire and may be required to provide an enhanced police information check.
