Masters degree in educational administration
SC certification in secondary administration
Graduate work in administration curriculum planning and implementation teacher evaluation and supervision
Skill in interpersonal relations with students parents teacher staff and the general public
Skill in applying accepted administrative methods/techniques
Strong interest in high school students and programs
Skill in supervision/coordination of instructional programs
Skill in evaluation and improvement of teaching effectiveness
Skill in problem analysis and resolution
Skill in budget development and implementation
Successful experience with increasing student achievement
Successful experience in matters related to student discipline
Successful teaching experience
Skill in oral and written communication
Five years of progressively responsible experience

JOB DESCRIPTION
HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL
Purpose Statement:
The job of High School Principal is done for the purpose/s of providing leadership and management to a high school with a primary focus on improving student achievement. The High School Principal is responsible for maintaining overall site operations; receiving distributing and communicating information to enforce school district and state policies; maintaining the safety of the school environment; coordinating school activities; communicating information to staff; and addressing situations problems and/or conflicts that could negatively impact the school.
This job reports to the Superintendent.

SKILLS are required to perform multiple technical tasks with a need to periodically upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skills required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: planning and managing people and projects; using pertinent software applications; implementing instructional programs at the high school level.
KNOWLEDGE is required to perform algebra and/or geometry; review and interpret highly technical information write technical materials and/or speak persuasively to implement desired actions; and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions. Specific knowledge required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job includes: laws and regulations relating to education; concepts of management and supervision
ABILITY is required to schedule a significant number of activities meetings and/or events; routinely gather collate and/or classify data; and use basic jobrelated equipment. Flexibility is required to independently work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; analyze data utilizing a variety of complex processes; operate equipment using defined methods. Ability is also required to work with a significant diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with data of widely varied types and/or purposes; and utilize specific jobrelated equipment. In working with others independent problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data requires analysis based on organizational objectives; and problemsolving with equipment is limited. Responsibility
Responsibilities include: working independently under broad organizational guidelines to achieve unit objectives; managing multiple departments; and supervising the use of funds. Utilization of resources from other work units is often required to perform the jobs functions. There is some opportunity to significantly impact the Organizations services.
Working Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting carrying pushing and/or pulling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 25 sitting 40 walking and 35 standing. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and a generally hazard free environment.
