Position Overview
As Senior Internal Control Associateyou will assist and supportthe organization with compliance ongoing preparation and monitoringof conformance to SarbanesOxley (SOX). You will performevaluation of internal controls risk assessments maintenance of compliancerelated documentation and coordinate with internal/external audit. Your role will be to identify risk evaluatedeficiencies and workwith internal departments and stakeholders on remediation strategies. You will assist in the of control improvement projects and work with the business (finance and operations) to assess risk and opportunities for improvement.
Location:Paderborn working from office 4 days no travel required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting in development of project definition and documentation of project objective planning and scope. Preparing the work plan for assigned area.
- Independently conducting interviews/control walkthroughs in local language designed to gather information and update documentation for SOX processes.
- Participating in or coleading discussions with staff leadership and auditors.
- Within assigned area researching and identifying alternatives to existing processes which drive either heightened and harmonized controls or simplification. Independently drafting findings and evaluating issues related to SOX controls.
- Assisting in preparing summary level reports for leadership.
- Participating in and providing seniorlevel support to team and crossfunctional projects.
- Acting as liaison between Internal Control team other Finance departments auditors and line management.
Required Qualifications:
- 23 years experience in internal control or internal / external audit preferably within a Big 4 environment.
- Degree in Accounting or related field.
- CPA or similar certification is preferred.
- Strong understanding of SOX and COSO 2013 requirements preferred.
- Strong understanding of primary business processes including Financial Close Purchase to Pay Order to Cash Inventory Fixed Assets etc.
- Understanding of accounting and ability to articulate accounting impact of business transactions.
- Experience in risk evaluation and prioritization of actions based on risk and impact to the organization.
- High level of communication skills (e.g. ability to adjust style to audience facilitating finding solutions and consensus between business functions and stakeholders).
- High level of analytical skills that contribute to identifying an answer/solution.
- Experience in improving processes performance.
- German and Englishprofessional level proficiency.
