Terran Orbital seeks a motivated Ground Systems Engineer to contribute to the Ground Systems(GSW) development at our Irvine CA location.

Terran Orbital is a leading worldwide provider of nanosatellite and microsatellite vehicles services and solutions to Commercial and Government customers. The team is responsible for building and maintaining software applications and tools that enable endtoend operations of our spacecraft as well as the entire ground segment. The Ground Systems Engineer will support Terran Orbital in developing deploying and sustaining a large system of systems spacecraft constellation.

The position requires you having experience with large scale ground systems architecture software systems engineering processes and documentation. You will interact and coordinate daily with numerous stakeholders (Mission Operations AI&T Ground Software etc..

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Support Mission Operations AI&T and Ground Software in developing tools and automation
• Provide oncall support to Mission Operations support ensuring the reliability and effectiveness of space mission activities
• Provide oncall support to AI&T providing software solutions for hardware testing
• Develop and implement solutionsfocused strategies for system architecture and engineering activities including system requirements design interface management and data architecture
• Support various systems architecting and engineering activities such as system requirements definition design interface management data architecture development verification and validation integration performance analysis lifecycle cost analysis & estimation decision analysis and physical configuration assessments
• Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical schedule and cost constraints
• Support development of system engineering items such as CONOPs requirements definitions (or features themes epics) system testing algorithm document review and interfaces to other application development efforts
• Manage ground segment technical and interface requirements. Manage interface negotiation with external stakeholders. Oversee requirements and interface verification

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or relevant discipline
• 3 years experience in systems engineering design and architecture development
• Experience with requirements management and V&V
• Excellent communication skills and demonstrated success in technical leadership
• Meticulous attention to detail in design and documentation

Distinguishing Qualifications and Skills

• Active TS/SCI security clearance
• MS or PhD in Engineering or relevant disciplin
• Experience with Qradio
• Experience developing complex Ground Systems and Mission Operations
• Experience with government cybersecurity requirements CMMC preferred
• MBSE expertise and MBSE development tools (e.g. Cameo)
• Familiarity with testing aerospace flight hardware
• Developing with industry standard tool suites to include Atlassian
• Experience with space system program lifecycles development flows test events and verification and validation
• Understanding of and experience with Git CI/CD DevOps Cloud Containerization and Kubernetes

Salary Range $100000$130000

Your actual level and base salary will be determined casebycase and may vary based on the jobrelated qualification knowledge skills education and experience.
