South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) seeks highly motivated and qualified candidates for theacademic year to fill a fulltime tenuretrack position as a Medical Assisting Professor. Successful candidates will possess the interest skills and abilities to help college teams lead the state in innovative and collaborative learning experiences designed to optimize student success. The effective date of employment will be July 1 2025 with contract days beginning Fall of 2025. The basic assignment is 177 contract days with a salary of $77631 annually.
The Medical Assisting Professor will:- Place student success at the center of all decisionmaking.

What Youll Do
Faculty members will work with other faculty staff and administrators to:
- Create and facilitate contextualized and integrated learning experiences in Medical Assisting related to identified college pathways linked to career goals.
- Create authentic assessments of students knowledge skills and abilities in Medical Assisting that measure course program and college wide outcomes.
- Apply multiple teaching and learning strategies that promote the affective cognitive and kinesthetic domains of learning.
- Provide online hybrid and facetoface learning with a learning management system.
- Use local state and national data and analytics to improve strategies for student success continuously.
- Mentor students regarding academic pathways and the courses needed to reach each students academic goals.
- Use a wide range of learning resources tools and technologies to improve access and student success in higher education.
- Serve on committees that support the shared governance of the college.
Qualifications You Possess
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates Degree
- Eligible to work as a medical assistant in Washington which requires a medical assistant certification (MAC).
- American Heart BLS Health Care Provider Cardholder or willing to obtain prior to the first day of classes.
- Demonstrated experience or participation with persons from diverse backgrounds such as sexual orientation racial ethnic religious linguistic gender age socioeconomic physical and learning abilities and a commitment to an inclusive and equitable working/learning environment.
