Classification: Support Staff Wage and Benefit Schedule AEssential Functions: Perform various manual tasks to maintain school buildings and grounds in a clean and orderly condition working from established procedures under the direction of the Head Custodian/Maintenance : a high school education or the a physical to make minor the ability to make judgments to comply with instructions and prescribed procedures and to make minor decisions in the performance of to operate small a general knowledge of electrical and mechanical a commercial drivers license or is willing to obtain the ability to maintain congenial positive and productive working relationships with students staff and the basic computer : a courteous and helpful attitude toward pupils staff and the responsible for the general condition of the building and grounds committed to his/her assigned areas including classrooms offices cafeteria and any other areas in school under the control of the district in a clean and orderly floors wash mop strip and wax according to windows walls light fixtures furniture and other equipment as lavatories/urinals; and replace supplies paper goods soap and so other duties that include but are not limited to the following: disinfecting specified areas changing bulbs or lamps unclogging drains cleaning or replacing air filters collecting trash using equipment and materials including but not limited to brooms mops scrubbers water vacuum polisher brushes dusters soaps polishes wax stripper drain openers bowl cleaners and furniture and other equipment as trucks deliver materials to proper minor repairs to furniture equipment and snow and keep walks and steps clear of snow and immediate grounds in a clean orderly and safe promptly any conditions that need to be remedied or security and safety of building as instructed by against waste of fuel water electricity and other duties as the supervisor and Physical Demands:1. Will be required to stand for prolonged periods of time.2. May be required to move heavy objects such as furniture or equipment.3. Will be required to operate power equipment such as scrubbers mowers and tractors.4. May need to take precautions to avoid exposure to cleaning and stripping compounds and fumes.5. May need to take precautions to avoid student bodily fluids.6. May be exposed to noise from power equipment.7. may be required periodically to work outdoors in inclement weather.8.
