The Southwestern Veterans Center is seeking a dedicated Therapeutic Activities Worker to help us develop implement and evaluate therapeutic activities programs for our residents and their spouses. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Therapeutic Activities Worker you will collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment teams for the purpose of developing the therapeutic segments of individual treatment plans. This includes activities that overlap or combine various aspects of therapeutic recreation occupational therapy or vocational adjustment services. Under the direction of the Therapeutic Recreational Services staff you will conduct planned sessions of resident activities to lead residents to their highest level of physical cognitive and social abilities. As part of this interdisciplinary team you can expect to assist in planning organizing scheduling and conducting recreational and educational activities and outings to enhance or retain the residents functionality in the areas of socialization interpersonal relationships selfrespect selfesteem and selfhelp. Additionally you will provide transportation and escort residents to and from programs and activities such as social parties dances dinners and other leisure time activities.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Fulltime employment 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday Friday with a 30minute lunch.
- Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of experience providing therapeutic activities for individuals with physical medical or cognitive disabilities;or
- A bachelors degree with major coursework in therapeutic recreation; physical education; vocational rehabilitation; vocational education or counseling; art music dance or occupational therapies; or a related human services field;or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation.
- A conditional offer of employment will requirea medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including but not limited to PA State Police and FBI clearance.
