The Southwestern Veterans Center is seeking a dedicated Therapeutic Activities Worker to help us develop implement and evaluate therapeutic activities programs for our residents and their spouses. As a Therapeutic Activities Worker you will collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment teams for the purpose of developing the therapeutic segments of individual treatment plans. This includes activities that overlap or combine various aspects of therapeutic recreation occupational therapy or vocational adjustment services. Under the direction of the Therapeutic Recreational Services staff you will conduct planned sessions of resident activities to lead residents to their highest level of physical cognitive and social abilities. As part of this interdisciplinary team you can expect to assist in planning organizing scheduling and conducting recreational and educational activities and outings to enhance or retain the residents functionality in the areas of socialization interpersonal relationships selfrespect selfesteem and selfhelp. Additionally you will provide transportation and escort residents to and from programs and activities such as social parties dances dinners and other leisure time activities.
