POSITION SUMMARY:
- Responsible for keeping a clean orderly and current inventory of warehouse foods supplies and materials
- Ensure timely deliveries to campus cafeterias
- Transport food warmers/coolers to DHS Ninth Grade Center
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- State Accredited High School diploma or TEAcertified GED
- 6 Hours of Professional Certification Training each year per USDA regulations
- Hold a current ServSafe Managers Certification
- Hold a current Forklift Operators Certification
- Possess a valid drivers license and ability to drive FNS delivery truck to destinations beyond the school district boundaries including Houston
- Two 2 years of warehouse experience with inventory control or other experience acceptable to the FNS Director
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledgeable of HACCP plan including receiving products transporting products maintaining warehouse storage and freezer areas
- Computer literate on Systems Design Point of Sale Primero EmailMS Office & basic computer applications
- Able to demonstrate the basic use of kitchen equipment in a safe and proper manner such as sealing machines warmers freezer and coolers
- Ability to communicate with FNS Staff students and other school district staff
- Able to receive items at FNS warehouses: check in a product verify it is the correct product that is free of damage and within a servable date etc.
- Follow all HACCP receiving rules for food products
- Able to demonstrate basic organizational skills in the timely delivery of products to schools
- Ability to keep all products in warehouses organized and neatly together using FIFO
- Knowledge and use of all rules governing the storage and transporting of food including TDA USDA Local and State Health Codes
- Uphold all Professional conduct rules while transporting and delivering between schools
- Uphold all Texas Department of Transportation vehicle drivinglaws
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Receive deliver and store products using HACCP principles
- Communicate to Supervisor when items are low in inventory and need to be ordered
- Create a monthly delivery calendar for commodity brown box items
- Monitor temperatures of the warehouse freezer and report issues to the Supervisor
- Assist with special events concessions etc.
- Maintain upkeep of vehicles by cleaning adding gas maintaining the maintenance schedule etc.
- Report any issues with temperature in storage areas
- Adhere to state sanitation regulations in preparing and serving food
- Assist Appliance Tech as requested by Supervisor

- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds from a minimum height of 8 to knuckle height (recommend getting another employees assistance when lifting anything over 50 pounds)
- Ability to carry up to 50 pounds for a short distance of approximately 10 feet
- Sustained standing tolerance up to eight hoursper day
- Repetitive forwardreaching bending and stooping
- Must have manual dexterity and fine motor skills
- Job is performed 75 indoors and 25 outdoors.
- Isolated areas are subject to high temperatures due to the use of ovens stoves and dishwashing equipment
- Isolated areas are subject to cold temperatures specifically in the walkinfreezer
- Noise levels are increased with the operation of dishwashing equipment ventahood fans and the use of a mixer
- Noise levels are not extreme and hearing protection is not required
- Exposure to vibration occurs while using knives meat slicer mixer rolling pin as well as the manual kneading of dough for baking
- Recessed overhead fluorescent fixtures provide lighting with a glare
- Walking surface is level concrete covered by quarry tile or other surface material
- Leather rubbersoled shoes with nonskid soles are required
- Hairnets or other approved headwear are worn as a sanitary measure at all times while serving food and in all kitchen food areas
EVALUATIONS:
- Performance of this position will be evaluated annually
