Job Description

Essential functions of this job include but are not limited to:

  • Enters payroll information into UKG Pro for new hires. Makes proper adjustments for terminations including PTO payout adjustments.
  • Maintains payroll reports and ensures their security with respect to confidentiality.
  • Processes accurate employee mileage reimbursement checks in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Performs accurate data entry and reconciliation of mileage timesheets and uniform deductions in Excel. Uploads data to automated payroll processing service in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Assists in preparing accurate payroll journal entries.
  • Maintains an accurate billet list by making changes/adjustments on a biweekly basis. Distributes to supervisors biweekly in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Maintains accurate accrual list and disseminates to supervisors biweekly in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Verifies change forms that are processed by the Human Resources department in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Effectively coordinates with Human Resources Specialist or designee regarding payroll issues.
  • Runs various benefits reports out of UKG for Accounting staff.
  • Tracks and disburses live checks when necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors degree preferred. Two years experience in payroll required some accounting experience preferred. Experience with payroll processing software programs (e.g. processing payroll maintaining direct deposit and tax profiles garnishments etc. and Excel (e.g. pivot tables vlookups etc.. Must possess strong organizational skills and be detailedoriented. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest and percentages Must have the ability to work effectively with Agency employees and outside contacts.
