The Role:
The Family Liaison reports to and is supervised by the school principal and collaborates with the Welcoming Schools Coordinator on district initiatives. This position coordinates family engagement efforts to support student academic achievement and promotes equity and access for all children and families.
In this role the Family Liaison is responsible for:
Your Skill Set:
The successful candidate for the position will have an excellent ability to relate and work with people from a variety of racial cultural social economic and linguistic backgrounds. Skills will include: compassion; collaboration; leadership; effective communication (both oral and written) organizational skills; and strong interpersonal skills in dealing with parents staff and members of the community at large. The successful candidate will have experience in planning and organizing community events and fostering and managing volunteer participation. The candidate should possess strong technology skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word Excel Powerpoint) as well as strong webbased skills. Experience with social media is a plus. Fluency in Spanish is required. Knowledge of the Cambridge Public Schools is preferred.
The candidate may have either a college degree or comparable experience in community outreach and parent education. The position requires participation and attendance in all meetings workshops and trainings and some contact with families in the evening and outside of the regular school day.
