Job Description
Somerville Independent School District is a rural 2A school district located near Somerville Lake in beautiful Burleson County. We have apporximately 540 students and our facilities are up to date with the latest technology in every classroom. We offer small class sizes assigned mentors for first time teachers and lesson planning with the help of instructional coaches. Somerville High School is a 8th12th grade secondary campus. There is a $3000 stipend for ELAR for secondary.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelors degree from accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned
Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
Knowledge of curriculum and instructional best practices for online learning
Strong knowledge of Internet and webrelated technology
Ability to instruct students using a variety of technology applications and platforms
Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to develop relationships and maintain consistent contact with student parents and colleagues
Ability to support students with computer setup navigation and technology issues
Experience:
Student teaching approved internship or related work experience
