OverviewReporting to the Revenue Cycle Director the Coding Resource Coordinator is responsible for performing prospective coding audits including review of the quality of medical record and billing documentation relating to inpatient and outpatient professional fee charges. Based upon findings prepares training materials and conducts oneonone and/or group training around accurate diagnosis and procedural coding to coders billers providers and any other staff involved in coding activities. This position will also include supervisory responsibilities. Additional duties include serving as a resource to all personnel involved in any aspect of coding to obtain information or clarification on accurate and ethical coding and documentation standards guidelines and regulatory requirements. REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITIONEDUCATION: Associates degree or the equivalent in education and work : Five years coding experience in ambulatory care of 2 years of management or supervisory working knowledge of CPT ICD9 and HCPCS coding and other coding related regulatory standards knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word Excel and : Certified Professional Coder(CPC) is SERVICES SKILLS: Demonstrated ability to facilitate change and knowledge of adult learning to present complex data in easily understandable format within a group or oneonone organizational skills customer service skills and attention to to successfully function in a fast paced service oriented to communicate effectively with all levels of staff physicians managers and other members of the health care team. Ability to direct and facilitate work and process improvement team prioritization and decisionmaking to independently conduct regulatory and coding clinic guidance research and followthrough with education of coding management and leadership skills.
