Program Coordinator Student Life & Leadership

Location: Gainesville or Tallahassee FL (hybrid)

Schedule: Flexible PartTime Up to 30 hours per week

Compensation: $20$22 per hour

Reports to: Director of Student Life & Leadership
FLSA Status: NonExempt

Summary of Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or higher in a related field.
  • At least one year of experience in program coordination office management or similar activities. Substantial internship or volunteer activities may also substitute for work experience.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM databases.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Ability to pass a Level 1 background check.

About Us:Through rentfree housing and cooperative living Southern Scholarship Foundation (SSF) supports students who lack financial resources demonstrate excellent academic merit and exemplify good character while attending institutions of higher education. Since 1955 SSF has helped students achieve their dreams of attending their choice university through our partnerships at Florida Gulf Coast University University of Florida Santa Fe College Florida State University Florida A&M University and Tallahassee State College. SSF has 26 homes statewide and serve 470 students.

Position Summary

The Program Coordinator is responsible for scholarship application processing student records management and eligibility tracking. Additionally the position collaborates with Student Life & Leadership and Accounting to support SSFs cooperative living program student success initiatives and program administration. It also involves monitoring academic progress financial need and studentrelated financial projects while maintaining accurate records and preparing reports.

Key Responsibilities

Admissions

  • Coordinate scholarship applications from receipt to final selection.
  • Provide incoming students with acceptance and movein materials.
  • Maintain student records and track eligibility requirements.

Program Support Administration

  • Maintain accurate records in the student database and prepare reports as needed.
  • Support studentrelated program budget and monitoring process.
  • Assist with scholarship renewal application process.
  • Support Student Life & Leadership activities as directed.
  • Support Accounting with studentrelated financial projects.
  • Coordinate with Student Life & Leadership to support student success initiatives.


Requirements

The Program Coordinator must:

  • Possess an Associates degree or higher in a related field.
  • Demonstrate at least one year of experience in program coordination office management or similar activities. Substantial internship or volunteer activities may also substitute for work experience.
  • Have strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
  • Enjoy working with diverse student populations.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM databases.
  • Possess strong written communication skills.
  • Be able to pass a Level 1 background check.
  • Be able to commit to this parttime position with flexible work hours four to six hours per day.
  • Live within comfortable driving distance to our office in either Tallahassee or Gainesville Florida.
  • Be able to report onsite for occasional in office hours 23 days per month.
  • Understand that hours that will vary be week; 2030 hours depending on the departments needs. Higher hours are anticipated October to November and April to May.
  • Be able to sit for extended periods while working on a computer to manage records process applications and prepare reports.
  • Be able to stand walk and perform light lifting (up to 20 lbs) for inoffice work event support or handling student materials.
  • Be capable of repetitive hand movements for typing data entry and document processing.
  • Have reliable transportation to travel occasionally between office locations or for studentrelated events if needed.


Benefits
