Cloncurry Shire Council is looking for an experienced and detailoriented Procurement Officer to support the implementation of effective procurement strategies and processes. If you have experience in contract development tendering and procurement in local government or civil construction this could be the perfect role for you.

What Youll Do:
- Assist in developing and managing procurement processes tools and templates.
- Support endtoend tender and contract requirements.
- Ensure procurement activities align with Council policies and compliance requirements.
- Monitor procurement costs and supplier performance.
- Provide procurement support to various departments and project teams.
- Analyse spending trends to maximise value for Council.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.
What Were Looking For:
- Strong knowledge of procurement practices tools and local government procurement regulations
- Experience with procurement for capital projects in a publicfacing environment
- Ability to manage multiple procurement activities while balancing cost quality and time constraints.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with stakeholders suppliers and project teams.
- Proficiency in contract management software (e.g. Altus/Synergy soft) and advanced Excel skills (an advantage)
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Qualifications Needed:
- Mandatory:
Current C Class Drivers Licence
Experience in a similar role in Local Government or the civil construction industry - Desirable:
Tertiary or vocational qualifications in Procurement Business Administration or a related field.
