Bachelors degree in Nursing with Masters degree in Nursing or a related field and five 5 years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
Compensation:
Pay Range: $85600 $139100 / yearly

Job Description:
To direct operations of specific inpatient nursing unit(s) with scope score range from 0 to 19 as defined in the UAB Medicine Nurse Manager Recruitment and Retention Plan. To ensure quality patient care competent and responsible personnel cost efficiency and effective utilization of unit resources to support the values and goals of UAB Hospital. To promote satisfaction and effective communication with patients/families staff physicians and other departments promote staff development and schedule nursing staff. To be responsible for 24hour 7 days a week unit coverage. To interview and recommend hiring of qualified candidates ensure orientation of new staff evaluate performance of staff recommend staff promotion discipline and conduct terminations as necessary. To develop annual budget for unit(s) detail needs for capital equipment and personnel resources and complete special projects or assignments as requested.
