Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Hillsboro Oregon. This role will support our North American sites including Hillsboro OR; Fremont CA; Richardson TX; and Tewksbury MA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Product Data Management CAD software and experience managing offshore contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute selected engineering changes during Product Lifecycle Management.
- Archive user documentation in our Product Data Management System.
- Support CAD drafting in Siemens NX and SolidWorks.
- Review and approve documentation from R&D partners to ensure operational requirements and quality checks are met.
- Train new end users on departmental TPD requirements in Teamcenter.
- Provide impact analysis of Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) affecting multiple products across different sites.
- Build and monitor implementation plans for assigned Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
- Participate in Change Review Boards and act as a backup to Change Leaders when necessary.
- Ensure ECO process targets such as WIP and cycle time are met within the scope of activity.
- Develop and maintain relationships with Manufacturing Logistics Sourcing NPI/SPR Engineering GTS PLM Quality and R&D to resolve documentation issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5 years of experience with TC Product Data Management systems.
- 5 years of experience with NX and SolidWorks CAD software.
- Experience managing offshore contractors is a plus.
- Experience with Engineering Change Requests and ECO implementation scenarios.
- Ability to travel internationally up to 25 of the time.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail problemsolving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Proven ability to plan and resolve issues involving multifunctional multicultural groups without damaging relationships.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a hightech industry or manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of product cost structure and the cost consequences of engineering changes.
- Demonstrated ability to build user documentation and reports using Microsoft Office and Acrobat applications.
- Digital literacy and customer focus.
- Strong communicative and multicultural interaction skills.
