Job Description
Are you a detail-driven Mechanical Design Engineer with a passion for precision ALTEN UK is working on a high-profile Naval systems project involving the redesign and alteration of complex cabinet structures. This is your chance to contribute to mission-critical defence technology working alongside experienced teams to update and optimise the design of electronic enclosures for demanding environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver detailed design modifications to mechanical cabinets within Naval systems ensuring form fit and function integrity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review design inputs and validate cabinet updates.
- Interpret and update complex mechanical drawings using industry-standard tools.
- Integrate updates to support housing of electronic systems ensuring ease of access and thermal considerations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant defence design standards and client-specific specifications.
- Work in a hybrid model with key on-site presence for integration reviews and stakeholder engagement.
Qualifications :
What Were Looking For:
- Strong background in mechanical design within defence aerospace or high-integrity environments.
- Prior experience with electronic enclosure or cabinet design highly beneficial.
- Proficiency in Catia V5 and AutoCAD is essential this is a hands-on CAD role.
- Ability to assess and deliver design alterations with minimal oversight.
- Excellent drawing interpretation skills and an eye for detail.
- Confident working in a structured design and configuration-controlled environment.
