Job Description
A school nurses job is to ensure the health and safety of students and staff and to support the educational process.
Performing health evaluations screening for vision hearing and orthopedic issues and monitoring students health during recovery
Preferred skills but will train: Trach Care and CPR
Teaching students and staff about healthy habits and hygiene and helping teachers with health and nutrition education
Providing basic healthcare for injuries and acute illnesses and providing emergency aid to students and staff
Developing health plans for students with specific health needs and attending IEP meetings to review student records
Maintaining clinical records and assisting with obtaining and maintaining immunization records and other medical documents
Ensuring a safe school environment that complies with health laws
Acting as a resource for teaching staff about medical processes and providing materials on health units
Havegood organizational skills and be able to communicate well with teachers administrators parents and guardians
