In this position
Ford Motor Company seeks a highly skilled and experienced Reliability Hardware Process Specialist to join our team responsible for the reliability and environmental validation of inhouse electronic modules for nextgeneration vehicles. This critical role will involve collaborating closely with design and test engineering teams across multiple electronic module projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that our designs meet or exceed the highest reliability and quality standards contributing significantly to the success of our future electronic architecture.

Responsibilities

What youll do

  • Lead and execute hardware reliability analysis including Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams (design test manufacturing) throughout the product lifecycle to ensure robust reliability and quality.
  • Support the development and of environmental and reliability validation processes procedures and plans ensuring compliance with both Ford and industry standards.
  • Participate in design reviews providing expert guidance on reliability best practices and potential failure modes.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of hardware reliability processes and methodologies.
  • Analyze reliability data identify trends and recommend corrective actions to enhance product performance and durability.
  • Document and communicate technical findings clearly and effectively to both technical and nontechnical audiences.


Qualifications

Youll have

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Technology Engineering Mechanical Technology Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proven experience 3 years) in electronic hardware reliability engineering with a strong track record of success in applying DFMEA PFMEA and RCCA methodologies.
  • Deep understanding of electronic component failure mechanisms and reliability prediction techniques.
  • Excellent communication interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities.

Even better you may have

  • Masters degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence Atlassian Tools.
  • Detailed understanding of Test System Design and Software Automation.
  • 5 Years experience with automotive electronic modules and systems.
  • Knowledge of industry standards. (e.g. AECQ USCAR ISO/IEC)
  • Laboratory Management and Certification experience. (ISO/IEC17025 A2LA)
  • Experience with Liquid Chiller Systems and Temperature Chambers.
  • 5 Years experience with environmental testing and validation procedures for automotive.
  • Electronic PCB Assembly Inspection Destructive and Chemical Analysis Processes. (IPC)
  • NI Software Automation Development experience. (LabView and TestStand)
  • 5 Years experience with D/FMEA processes. 5D/8D RCCA 5Why)
  • Experience with Probabilistic Reliability and Bogey Testing.
  • Failure Probability (Weibull) and Accelerated LifeCycle testing.
  • Statistical Data analysis (histogram / CPK) automation tools.
  • Experience with RF communications test and design. (TDR /Cellular/GPS/WiFi/BT)
  • Detailed understanding of various technologies such as CAN Automotive Ethernet (BroadR) Audio (i2S) Displays (LVDS) and Cameras.
  • Network Expert with TCP/IP connectivity protocol standards knowledge base.
  • Experience with embedded chip programming and software download into electronic modules.
  • Knowledge of Surface Mount Selective Solder Underfill ConformalCoat processes.
  • Experience working with dynamic RF frontend designs and Qualcomm tool sets.

This position is a range of salary grades SG6 SG8.
