The School District of Clayton is seeking Teaching Assistants for Elementary Summer Academy. The TAhelps teachers facilitate learning in their classroom by providing support and assistance to individual students or small groups to help them better understand thecontent and help them complete assignments.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Assists and teaches literacy classes provides workshops and conferences on student writing completes basic grading and feedback on projects works with students oneonone to review or introduce literacy concepts and collaborates with literacy teachers in literacy lab.
Serves as substitute teacher ensuring that standard classroom protocols are followed assisting students with a range of tasks and providing classroom teachers with projects and student updates.
Preps materials and classrooms for teachers making copies recording audio of stories for students and preparing lab equipment.
Supports and assists with test proctoring special events projects field trips and any requests from teachers.
Assists with other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Required qualifications to effectively perform job. An equivalent combination of education training and experience will be considered.
Bachelors Degree in Education is required.
At least 2 years of experience is required.
Substitute teaching certification is required.
NOTE: Summer program dates range from June 9 through July 3.
