About This Role
We are looking for an experienced Simulator Electrical / Hardware Technician to join our team based at Al Majmaah Airbase working on advanced Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) simulators. In this role you will be part of a team of 3 technicians who are responsible to the maintenance and repair of existing fleet of 3 UAV Simulators 2 Generic Mission Training devices and 1 Desk top system. This role will be technically varied giving you the opportunity to work on modern simulators systems and equipment to enhance your technical knowledge. Were continually looking to foster an environment of learning development and progression. At CAE youll gain exposure to a broad range of systems to help you develop your technical knowledge.
Our current working hours in this role areSunday to Thursday.
Identifying finding and solving problems in complex flight simulation systems
Checks updates and bug fixes at subsystem level with the test engineer/pilot
Support for the integration of data updates software and hardware and exchange of various assemblies
Calibration of instruments
Functional testing of systems
Detailed fault analysis and rectification or repair of the source of the fault / components
Learn and perform preventive maintenance tasks on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
Assist in diagnosing and correcting problems on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
Utilize maintenance management systems to record and track maintenance activities.
Perform preflight and post flight checks on all simulators.
Perform visual calibrations.
Run automatic Qualification Test Guide (QTG).
Assist with refurbishment and hardware modifications.
Perform administrative tasks as required.
Perform logistics duties including parts received repair and testing/validation.
Ideally you will hold relevant Technical qualifications as well as have some work experience in an electronic avionic or technical field as a technician or similar.
Strong experience in electrical engineering and hardware engineering.
Experience of working with Software (you dont need to write code)
Computer literate (PC and/or computer mainframe/architecture).
Some experience in soldering and circuit board repairs preferred.
Some knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and suite.
Practical analytical mindset with great troubleshooting skills.
High level of communication and teamwork skills
