The Education Operations Coordinator manages departmentwide systems that support daily Museum Floor operations ensuring exceptional guest experiences. This role sources purchases and maintains highquality exhibit consumables that are developmentally appropriate and aligned with the Museums mission and vision while monitoring inventory and functionality. The Coordinator collaborates with Exhibits and Facilities to uphold operational standards including cleaning procedures and exhibit maintenance and partners with Floor Staff Managers to set clear expectations for Museum Associates. This position reports to the Associate Director of Operations and Engagement.
Job Specifications: 40 hours/week SundayThursday. Other evening weekend and special event hours may be required; schedule may vary to reflect staffing needs of Museum events and programs.
Salary: $42500$47402.25/Annually

Responsibilities:
- Source purchase and manage repairs and replacement of Museum exhibit consumables and first aid supplies.
- Develop and implement quality assurance system for timely rotations of exhibit consumables and donations.
- With oversight from the Associate Director of Operations and Engagement develop track and maintain exhibit consumables budget.
- Maintain organized storage for exhibit consumables and backstocked first aid supplies.
- Evaluate the durability quality and effectiveness of exhibit consumables and learning materials to ensure they meet standards for presentation age appropriateness cleanliness and safety.
- Collaborate with Associate Director of Operations and Engagement to determine the developmental appropriateness of consumables to support specific early childhood age ranges.
- With Floor Staff Managers develop and deliver training for Education staff on operational standards and expectations of Museum exhibits and consumables.
- Coordinate and maintain the schedule for exhibit consumable cleaning and routine exhibit cleaning in collaboration with the Exhibits and Facilities teams.
- Support the Education team in daily opening and closing procedures; fill shifts on the daily floor coverage schedule and clean and reset exhibits throughout the day.
- Train and coach Education team members and volunteers to uphold high standards of presentation and safety recognizing the Museum environment as essential to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Act as the primary point of contact for Education staff regarding repair and maintenance needs coordinating with the Exhibits and Facilities teams to address issues or implement improvements in exhibits and public spaces.
- Collaborate with the Exhibits Department and other key stakeholders to complete quarterly Exhibit Functionality Reports a detailed and comprehensive assessment of exhibit functionality and appearance standards.
- Train and serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) and assume MOD responsibilities as needed.
- Demonstrated commitment to the Museums mission vision and values of diversity equity access and inclusion
- Experience in Museum operations with a strong focus on exceptional guest service
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Effective communicator of Museumwide operational expectations
- Skilled in managing operational budgets and maintaining sustainable inventory practices
- Highly detailoriented with strong organizational skillsA proactive and clear communicator dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of operational quality throughout the Museum
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience working in a museum or similar environment
- 1 year of experience in operations and/or guest services
- 1 year of supervisory leadership or mentorship experience
- Certified in Infant and Child First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain certification)
- Experience with purchasing and managing a comprehensive budget
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
Physical Demands

- Frequently move transport position equipment up to 50 pounds across campus for various Museum operations needs
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time indoors and outdoors (up to 6 hours).
- Effectively operate a two way radio to frequently communicate and exchange information with staff
- Operate a computer and other office equipment
- Frequently communicate with staff or guests with daily inquiries and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
Work Environment
This position operates in both indoor and outdoor environments where variable temperatures light levels crowds and moderate to very noisy sound levels are common. The employee is required to interact and communicate with adults and children frequently and routinely uses standard office equipment such as 2 way radios computers phones and photocopiers as well as commercial cleaning supplies.
