QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Michigan Speech and Language Certification.
  2. Meets Michigan Department of Education Special Education Rules and Regulations related to qualifications.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Implement the Individual Educational Plans (IEP) related to speech and language services for all assigned students.
  2. Work with classroom teacher to coordinate students schedules for speech an language services.
  3. Communicate with parents regarding student progress in attaining IEP goals and objectives.
  4. Provide diagnostic and ongoing assessments of students and develop speech and language goals that reflect the individual student needs.
  5. Utilize researchbased current best practices in providing speech and language services to students.
  6. Encourage and monitor inclusive educational opportunities for special education students.
  7. Encourage parent involvement and education related to the speech and language interventions provided to students.
  8. Participate in District recommended professional development activities.
  9. Create and maintain a safe and orderly educational setting for students.
  10. Keep accurate and organized student records.
  11. Adhere to established timelines in completing required paperwork and scheduling meetings.
  12. Interact with students in a positive appropriate and supportive manner.
  13. Work cooperatively with the classroom teacher paraprofessionals and other ancillary support staff to assist the students to achieve their IEP goals.
  14. Assume other responsibilities as determine by their supervising administrator.
  15. Conducts himself/herself n a professional manner commensurate with his/her position and project a good public image of the School District in dealing with the community and employee groups.
