Job Description

BronxWorks helps individuals and families improve their economic and social wellbeing. From toddlers to seniors we feed shelter teach and support our neighbors to build a stronger community. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise case work staff through weekly individual and monthly group meetings

  • Review case records and reports at least monthly

  • Direct staff interventions in difficult or crisis situations

  • Maintain and monitor program variance reports to ensure statistical goals are being met

  • Monitor program for quality assurance and contract compliance

  • Provide each staff member with monthly progress report and yearly performance appraisals

  • Assist in the development and implementation of services for clients

  • Maintain a case load and provide direct services to client including intake engagement assessment service plan development referral advocacy counseling exit summaries and followup

  • Interview and recommend staff for hire

  • Submit reports to supervisor monthly or more frequently as required

  • Represent the agency at meetings and events

  • Act as a liaison between BronxWorks and other CBOs the area community district and government agencies

  • Perform additional duties as assigned


Program Specific Responsibilities

  • Oversee case management ensuring uniform quality of services and compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Recruit train supervise and motivate a team of wellinformed professional staff.
  • Intervene in major crisis with clients staff and agencies ensuring wellbeing and compliance with laws and government regulations.
  • Implement goals for relocating the maximum number of homeless families to appropriate permanent housing.
  • Coordinate an interagency program of comprehensive social services providing specialized mental health service.
  • Prepare social services statistics and reports for performance analysis and program planning.
  • Formulate and implement social services policies and procedures.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Masters degree in Social Work or related field or bachelors degree and three to five years experience providing case management services

  • LMSW is required within 6 months of hire if not obtained as of hire date.

  • Prior supervisory experience working in a social service agency preferred

  • Proficiency in modern business communications including personal computers electronic mail voicemail facsimile and copier equipment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Ability to stand walk or sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents.
  • Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation.
  • Ability to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of weather including inclement weather if required to conduct home visits and/or field work.
