Job Description
YoungEnergy Inc. is hiring Confined Space Entry Technician
As we continue to grow and expand we are looking for motivated dedicated and skilled individuals with industry experience. Our main office is based out of Calgary however this position does require travel throughout Western Canada in order to meet the needs of our clients.
The confined space entry technician has accountability for following required procedures safe work plans and practices to perform cleaning of confined spaces in industrial applications.This position requires workers to wear specialized personal protective equipment use various hand tools shovels pressure wash wands vacuum hoses and other equipment.
What you do:
- Work in confined space for shifts of up to 2 hours
- Operate pressure wash wand with up to 3000 psi pressure
- Stand sit crouch and kneel for extended periods of time
- Participate in installation and removal of energy isolation devices blanks blinds etc.
- Rig in / rig out ventilation wash and vacuum equipment
- Follow directions accurately
- Accurate reporting of conditions in the confined space
- Assist confined space entry personnel in donning and doffing required PPE when entering and exiting confined space when not in confined space
- Perform assigned emergency response roles including confined space rescue
- Actively participate in safety meetings tool box meetings permit and hazard assessment reviews
- Prepare hazard assessments as appropriate
- Maintain composure during high stress and multitasking challenges
- Support cleaning of respiratory protective equipment
- Complete required inspection records for PPE and equipment
- Complete required inventory of trailer daily and at end of project
- Support outside of space operations maintaining support equipment in berm / work area as directed
Extensive knowledge of:
- Industrial hygiene
- Ergonomics
- Personal protective equipment requirements
- Gas Monitoring
- Working basic hand and power tools
- Selection care inspection and operation of respiratory protective equipment
- Occupational health and safety regulations safety programs (company and client)
Requirements
What does it take:
- Previous experience in confined space and industrial cleaning operations anasset
- Physically and mentally fit
- Able to lift and carry up to 45 Kg
- Standard First Aid 2 Day Course)
- H2S Alive
- Energy Safety Canada Confined Space Entry & Monitor
- Confined Space Rescue
- Energy Safety Canada Fall Protection
- CSO
- CSTS2020
