TITLE: Transportation Supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 3 years experience scheduling routing and supervisory roles preferably in a transportation setting.
- Previous experience with base to vehicle radio communications.
- Knowledge of Arizona and federal laws mandates rules and regulations as applied to pupil transportation.
- Ability to communicate effectively with district employees parents and students.
- Knowledge of the operation of standard office machines.
- Experience Word Excel Google Suite software and with any commonly used transportation software.
- Must comply with all state and federal physical requirements.
- Certified Arizona School Bus Driver and Trainer. (Preferred)
JOB GOAL:
Perform supervisory duties of the Transportation Department in a pleasant and efficient manner. Model exemplary customer service skills when interacting with others and create a cohesive productive environment. Provide students and staff with safe efficient transportation that maximizes students access to the instructional day.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities shall include but not be limited to the following:
- Use standard office software to establish revise and maintain bus routes (daily and special timing).
- Schedule buses for special activities and arranges for drivers.
- Must be able to organize and maintain a bus driving training program including monitoring inservice training new bus driver and refreshers.
- Maintain and manage operational status of buses as to meet all DPS requirements.
- Coordinate student transportation with parents and other organizations.
- Recommend hiring and evaluate bus drivers and bus aides with approval from the Director of Maintenance and Transportation.
- Organize and coordinate safety programs with school administrators transportation department and DPS.
- Monitor radio make decisions quickly calmly and efficiently. Handle emergency situations with view to moral legal and ethical outcome.
- Function as a bus driver when necessary.
- Able to use job related chemicals such as but not limited to the following: transmission fluid motor oil brake fluid window cleaners gasoline diesel fuel power steering fluid antifreeze and DEF.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance and Transportation.
- Responsible for submission of state required transportation forms and reports. Tracks expenses and ridership as needed for reporting.
- Oversee scheduling and billing of all field trips.
- Oversee 3rd party transportation vendors.
- Oversee transportation fleet maintenance with the objective of maximizing uptime and fleet readiness.
- Working with peers makes recommendations regarding purchases and sales of transportation vehicles.
- Coordinate the management of the Federal Controlled Substance Testing Program and FMCSA Clearinghouse.

52 Weeks/Benefits (split shift hours if needed) Classified Exempt Salary Range E3 $65286$74708(DOE)
EVALUATION:
Performance will be evaluated by the Director of Maintenance & Transportation.
SUPERVISON RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
Supervised by the Director of Maintenance & Transportation. Exercises supervision of bus drivers and attendants as well as the mechanic(s) and dispatchers.
