Faculty/Unit: School of Continuing Studies Technology & Innovation Domain
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Academic Director Technology & Innovation (T&I) and in coordination with Director Professional and Corporate Education (PCE) the course consultant will oversee the noncredit Cloud Security Microcredential online microprogram.
Key responsibilities include:
Program Coordination: Provide academic oversight; contribute to program design and development; support grant reporting activities engage in related projects in consultation with the Directors of Technology & Innovation (T&I) and Professional & Corporate Education (PCE).
Curriculum Development & Improvement: Regularly review program content to ensure alignment with industry requirements. Participate in curriculum assessment continuous improvement and ensure content cohesion across all the modules forming part of the Cloud Security Microcredential program. Coordinate online course development updates and translation to French with SCS DLU (Digital Learning Unit). Keep track of activities ensure agreedupon actions updates and revisions are executed effectively.
Faculty Coordination: Organize and lead meetings with course lecturers to review content outlines coordinate updates as needed and align guest speakers before the start of each cohort.
Feedback Review & Reporting: Conduct postcohort evaluations with course lecturers gather student feedback identify improvements and report findings to the T&I PCE Directors and DLU.
Industry Engagement: Coordinate content validation and revisions with SCS industry partner FX Innovation. Stay updated on Cloud Security trends and advancements.
Program promotion: Actively promote the Cloud Security microcredential program through industry events information sessions professional networking to meet enrolment targets.
Faculty & Student Support: Recommend and onboard new instructors/guest speakers. Provide guidance to students interested in the program via phone email or in person.
Participate in SCS committees as required.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education: Minimum Bachelor degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering Software Engineering Information Systems Electronics & Communications Engineering Management Information Systems Information Security or a related IT field from a recognized university. Graduate degree preferred.
Experience: At least two years of teaching experience in a university or corporate setting including as a teaching assistant or instructor in cloud security. Extensive and relevant professional experience in cloud security. Experience with online content design development and delivery is an asset.
Certifications: At least one relevant certification such as CCSP CISSP CCSE CCSK SDE GPCSE SSCP CISM or CompTIA Cloud.
Preferred Skills: Proficiency in French is highly desirable. Knowledge of French and English. McGill University is an Englishlanguage university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing
