Job Description
Senior Nutrition Service Technician
Status: Parttime 24 hours weekly.
Days worked: Monday to Sunday. Every other weekend required.
Shifts: 11:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Location: Butterworth Hospital 100 Michigan St. Grand Rapids MI.
Starting at $16.94 per hour
Job Summary
Join our Nutrition Services team at Corewell Health and make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families. In addition to patient meal service responsibilities youll also act as a peer guide to Associate Techs within your area of responsibility and may be called upon to make decisions to ensure compliance with safety and quality initiatives. Communication and collaboration with other team members are essential to ensure continuity of service and help foster a positive work environment.
Essential Functions
- Teaches and maintains correct sanitation and personal hygiene procedures throughout assigned areas e.g. following proper dress code. Completes assigned quality assurance monitors.
- Applies reasonable judgment to the interpretation of hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
- Oversees dayend cash out and daily deposits. Makes cash register program changes when applicable.
- Ensures proper preparation and services meals. Ensures proper storage of food items as required labeling and dating items per standard.
- Responsible for the training of new staff.
- May lead new hire department orientation or perform other technical tasks within the designated area of responsibility.
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 6 months of relevant experience food service preferably in health care setting or related field
- CRTServSafe Manager NRA National Restaurant Association 90 days
- CRTServSafe Allergen NRA National Restaurant Association 90 Days
Preferred
- Associates Degree Hospitality or Nutrition
- 6 months of relevant experience Leadership
