Job Description
The Fortinet team is currently looking for a Web Developer to join our R&D team in our Burnaby location. You are customer focused and enjoy creating features that improve the lives of users.
Job Responsibilities:
- Full lifecycle application development experience including designing coding and debugging
- Implement and maintain webbased user interfaces for Fortinet portals and management products
- Monitors and analyzes the performance and security of our web system server and network
- Collaborate with development teams to create easy to use and powerful web applications
- Promote bestpractices within the team and organization
Skills Required:
- 3 years of relevant experience
- Experience with web based technologies especially Java/JavaScript/MySQL.
- Experience inJava JavaScript MySQL HTML CSS Perl PHP.
- Hands on experience with Linux web server and database server
- Experience using at least one of JavaScript frameworks/libraries (such as Angular or React)
- Ability to optimize web interfaces for performance without sacrificing usability
- Security awareness for some common web security vulnerabilities and penetration testing
- Experience using source control software (SVN git)
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Nice to have:
- Be comfortable and confident to learn a new technology in a reasonable amount of time
- Familiar with some DevOps related technologies are a plus (such as Jenkins and Docker)
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
The Canada base salary range for this fulltime position is expected to be between $70000 $95000 annually. Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labour market job type and job level. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidates subject knowledge skill level qualifications and experience.
