Overview Join our dynamic Packaging Development Group!
As a Packaging Development Engineer youll play a crucial role in developing costeffective environmentally compliant packaging and toting solutions. You will support various divisions within the company ensuring smooth manufacturing assembly and delivery to our customers.
Projects are run at a rapid pace with lots of opportunities for variety in the workload and an expectation of selfmanagement of time and workload. Projects take place across multiple sites and locations within the Renishaw group.
Responsibilities
- Innovative Design:Create packaging solutions that adhere to the packaging directive minimise volumes and weights and optimize material usage.
- Cost Reduction:Focus on reducing product costs quality costs and shipment volumes.
- Sustainability:Design for circularity and sustainability.
- Supplier Collaboration:Liaise with packaging suppliers and their design teams.
- Change Management:Control and issue packaging changes within the Renishaw change mechanisms.
- Product Testing:Conduct thorough packaging product testing.
- Toting Design:Design toting solutions for internal and external piece part transfer.
- Crossfunctional Liaison:Work closely with external suppliers internal purchasing and vendor assurance teams on new and existing designs.
Requirements
- Degree in a designbased subject/HNCONC with relevant experience
- Experience in design/production environment
- Full driving license multisite working but based at our HQ near WottonunderEdge
Desirable requirements
- NX Experience
- Practical handson experience
