Job Description
Intertek (BML) is a commercial laboratory which specializes in recovery of base and precious metals from raw mineralization.
General Responsibilities
Supervise and manage bulk/sample preparation and comminution resources (equipment and technicians) to ensure samples are received prepared and stored: safely accurately and on schedule.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain written/video method statements for all tests performed.
- Collect and report on QA/QC data for bulk preparation primarily replicate head sample assay and sizing data. This should be reported to the VP Operations.
- Ensure all safety procedures are documented and explained to sample prep staff.
- Enforce all safety procedures and good housekeeping.
- Order all test consumables to ensure there is no interruption in preparation and test schedules.
- Schedule and manage maintenance and cleaning tasks for technical staff.
- Train and develop technicians skill and competency for preparation and test procedures
- Ensure data is entered correctly and in a timely manner.
- Review with the VP Operations once a month staffing and capital resource requirements.
- Hire and terminate staff with the assistance of the VP Operations.
- Perform metallurgical testing as need.
- Document and maintain sample storage files for all samples.
- Generate invoices on a quarterly basis for sample storage.
- Ensure test product sample preparation is completed by 8:00 am and delivered to assay.
- Shipping and receiving of samples and products. Ensure shipping log and related documents are maintained.
Job Requirements
- 7 years metallurgical testing experience well rounded in sample preparation sizing (sieving and lasersizing) comminution shipping/receiving flotation and leaching.
- Working knowledge of Excel and Word.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Level I Jedi training.
Salary & Benefits Information
The range rate for this position is $28 to $40 hourly. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set experience qualifications and other jobrelated reasons.
