- Job Opportunity: Head of Data Governance & Quality
About the Role:
We are seeking an experiencedHead of Data Governance & Qualityto lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive data governance framework as part of a broader data strategy. Reporting to the Chief Data Officer you will be a key driver in enhancing data capabilities fostering a datadriven culture and ensuring compliance with evolving regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership:
- Support the Chief Data Officer in shaping and executing the organizations data strategy.
- Oversee the development and continuous improvement of the data governance framework focusing on data organization glossary and metadata management classification quality and reporting.
- Roadmap :
- Conduct annual data maturity assessments in collaboration with the data board to shape and prioritize the roadmap for the upcoming year.
- Lead the of this roadmap translating strategic frameworks into actionable processes and guidelines alongside Data Governance Consultants.
- Tool Selection & Implementation:
- Identify and implement the necessary tools to support data governance and data quality initiatives ensuring they are fit for purpose.
- Reporting & Optimization:
- Regularly report on the progress of data governance activities optimizing processes as needed.
- Coordinate data governance and qualityrelated reporting for regulatory bodies.
- CrossFunctional Collaboration:
- Foster engagement across business and IT teams building a community of data practitioners and promoting collaboration.
- Lead datadriven initiatives both from a content and project management perspective.
- Market Awareness & Compliance:
- Stay informed on industry trends and data legislation ensuring timely updates to the governance framework as necessary.
- Act as a key advisor to the data board on relevant developments.
Requirements
Your Profile:
- Education & Experience:
- Masters degree in economics analytics IT or a related field.
- At least 6 years of experience in data governance data strategy data management or quality.
- Knowledge of conceptual data modeling and data regulations (e.g. BCBS239 is a strong advantage.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Passion for data and analytics with a strategic mindset and the ability to translate concepts into practical solutions.
- Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to engage and build trust with stakeholders.
- Fluent in Dutch with proficiency in French and English.
- Analytical structured and independent thinker with a vision for the future of data.
- Enthusiastic about emerging data opportunities and skilled at driving engagement around them.
