Job Description
Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) Parttime/PRN
The Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) provides direct therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT). The OTA helps patients achieve independence in daily living activities improving their physical cognitive and emotional abilities. This parttime or PRN position offers flexibility providing therapy services as needed based on patient requirements.
- Develops implements and evaluates the plan of care in partnership with the client representative caregiver(s) and physician(s)
- Provides direct occupational therapy services in accordance with the plan of care established by the physician in a home health setting
- Educates and instructs client family members or other client representatives in rehabilitation care and activities to necessary to promote the clients health safety and independent living
- Accurately documents observations interventions and evaluations pertaining to client care management and services provided
- Select activities that will help individuals learn work and lifemanagement skills within limits of their mental or physical capabilities
- Recommend changes in patients work or living environments consistent with their needs and capabilities
- Engage in research activities and participation in formal educational training activities related to therapy.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Graduate of an accredited program of Occupational Therapy Assistant with an Associate level degree.
- Active Texas state license as an occupational therapy assistant
- Proof of current CPR certification.
- Current Texas drivers license.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously work independently prioritize and manage time effectively. Strong organizational and communication skills
- Computer skills required & light typing preferred for timekeeping and documentation.
- Home health care experience preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
- Reliable transportation and valid auto liability insurance.
