General Responsibilities

This position involves providing fulltime classroom teaching in an intermediate 46 or middle school 78 classroom focusing on establishing a safe and positive learning environment while delivering rigorous and engaging instruction.

Salary:
The current salary range is $52251$98484 annually based on education and experience.

Location:
This position will be in located in Skamania Washington.

Essential Functions/Other Functions

Essential Functions:

  1. Establish and clarify acceptable standards for student behavior demonstrating effective classroom management skills.
  2. Monitor students across various educational settings to ensure a safe and positive learning environment addressing social and emotional issues as they arise.
  3. Deliver direct instruction to students within a regular classroom setting.
  4. Motivate and effectively communicate with students from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds.
  5. Incorporate relevant rigorous and challenging learning activities into daily lessons.
  6. Differentiate instruction to meet with varying levels of student ability.
  7. Attend and actively contribute to staff meetings training sessions and IEP/504 meetings.
  8. Collaborate with fellow staff members in planning district curriculum and instructional methods as well as settings goals and objectives.
  9. Maintain a cooperative attitude while working with leadership colleagues parents and students.
  10. Actively participate in the MultiTiered System of Supports (MTSS) process.
Other Functions:
  1. Performing other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective function of the work unit.

Minimum/Preferred Qualifications & Skills

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. BA/BS or higher degree with a major in one of the following areas: Elementary Education Reading (ELA) Mathematics Science or Curriculum.
  2. Hold or be eligible to hold a Washington State Teaching License Emergency Substitute or Conditional Teaching License.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Hold and maintain an appropriate license and endorsement(s) from the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission in the State of Washington.
  2. Knowledge of ageappropriate teaching methods state curriculum framework education code appropriate instructional subjects and State Instructional Standards.

  1. Regular attendance during scheduled work hours.
  2. Classroom environment.

  1. Successful completion of a criminal history and fingerprint check through WSP and FBI.
