The Department of Computer Science at Brandeis University seeks an instructor for the course COSI 136a: Automatic Speech Recognition a 4 credit course in Fall 2025. This course is open to instructor modification within the overall focus on exploring speech recognizer core components and their underlying algorithms and surveying real applications with coursework that involves students building and evaluating a variety of ASRrelated applications using stateoftheart models and tools.
The course will be taken by intermediate and advanced students in the two year Computational Linguistics MS program along with interested CS undergraduates and graduate students.
Candidates with a PhD in hand by the start of the course or soon after in CL/NLP or a closely related field and teaching research and/or industry experience in stateoftheart advancements in NLP will be given preference. Interested individuals should submit a cover letter CV a draft course syllabus and names and contact information for two references. The deadline for first consideration is March 12 2025.
