Job Description
Job Summary:
The Drivetrain Specialist works with the Workshop Manager Senior Technicians Engineering Department and other VSC personnel to ensure the timely preparation and/or repair of driveline components for Rally competition vehicles.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Diagnose Maintain and repair driveline components to exacting specifications
- Troubleshoots and repair complex equipment problems.
- Keeps an up to date inventory of parts and components necessary to maintain drivetrain components.
- Keeps accurate up to date records on drivetrain component repairs and/or component replacement
- Repairs hydraulic jacks and associated equipment as required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Proven ability to work comfortably in a fastpaced oftenchanging motorsports environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word etc. or related software.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Reliability and punctuality is necessary for the success of this role.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Accreditation from a technical school or applicable skilled trades program along with 46 years experience required.
- VSC Senior Technicians may be considered for this position (Specialist)
- Performs work under minimal supervision.
- Handles complex issues and problems; refers only the most complex issues to higherlevel staff.
- Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.
- Provides leadership coaching and/or mentoring to a subordinate group.
- May act as a lead or firstlevel supervisor.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this position individuals may frequently be required to stand walk or sit for extended periods of time; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop kneel crouch or crawl; regularly required to talk and hear.
- The individual must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- Specific vision requirements for this position include close vision distance vision and the ability to adjust focus as required
This position is based in our Vermont headquarters. Our modern facility is located in the beautiful northern part of the state just outside of Burlington Vermont.
