Job Summary
This is a fulltime lecturer appointment in the Mathematics and Statistics Division. The position requires flexibility of scheduling and includes online and in person instruction at BCTC Newtown campus and occasional nonstandard locations in Lexington Georgetown and Frankfort.
Job Duties:
This position will be responsible for teaching 36 credit hours annually. This includes creation update and delivery of course content utilization of a learning management system such as Blackboard for communication and feedback curriculum development course design and student outcome assessment. The position may require some nonstandard start and end dates and teaching at locations in Lexington Georgetown and Frankfort.
Additional requirements are regular availability for students through office hours and any college/system required trainings.
Minimum Qualifications:
Mathematics Lecturer:
- Masters degree in Mathematics OR
- Masters degree in a related field with at least 18 graduate hours in Mathematics
Statistics Lecturer:
- Masters degree in Statistics OR
- Masters degree in Mathematics with at least 9 graduate hours in Statistics OR
- Masters degree in a related field with at least 9 graduate hours in Statistics and 9 additional graduate hours in either Mathematics or Statistics 18 graduate hours total)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Statistics instruction qualified
- At least two years of teaching experience with both facetoface and online formats
- Experience with Blackboard Stat Crunch and other instructional technology
