QUALIFICATIONS:
- MA licensure as a World Language Teacher 512 (Language(s): Spanish or French) required; dual licensure (Spanish and French) preferred
- Bachelors with major/concentration in teaching field
- Masters degree preferred
- Experience as a world language teacher at the middle and/or secondary levels preferred
- MA Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) Teacher Endorsement preferred
- Demonstrated experience in successfully motivating students of varying ability levels skills and achievements
- Such other alternatives as the Superintendent of Schools may deem acceptable and appropriate
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain daily and longrange plans consistent with the established curriculum and the goals of the system.
- Follow the department curriculum to provide activities which stimulate growth in listening reading speaking and writing the language.
- Provide instruction and learning activities which take into consideration the individual differences of children.
- Exercise appropriate classroom control to help children grow in the ability to be selfdisciplined and accept reasonable control.
- Provide a system for communicating with students parents counselor and administrators regarding students progress.
- Evaluate student progress and classroom activities on a daily and longrange basis.
- Attend meetings of department as called serve on committees for curriculum revision and for the general operation of the school.
- Continue professional growth by attending meetings seminars course and other professional activities.
- Cooperate with staff and principal in extracurricular activities.
- Such other responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned by the Principal and/or Department Head.
REPORTS TO: Department Head Building Principal
SALARY: In accordance with FEA Unit A Contract
