Job Description

**This posting is for one 1 fulltime permanent and one 1 fulltime temporary positions ending on or before Dec 31 2025**

The Edmonton Police Service requires two 2 Information Auditor II to fulfil a critical role in the Records Management System (RMS) Support Unit. This position is primarily responsible for ensuring the integrity of records contained within the RMS managing confidential records and identifying and correcting information anomalies. The successful candidate must be selfmotivated well organised highly analytical and possess excellent interpersonal skills. The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Provide support for all levels of EPS users who require assistance entering querying or managing data within the RMS.
  • Administer access to confidential files by managing the Access Control List (ACL) within the RMS.
  • Address information errors in the RMS by investigating analyzing and correcting issues.
  • Work with Business Analysts and Developers to perform User Acceptance Testing for changes made to the RMS.
  • Consult with and advise IT professionals in the creation of data correction routines.
  • Lead inperson training sessions to users and peers on various EPS systems and processes.
  • Identify and document data quality issues.
  • Develop maintain and present training materials on the various RMS related applications.
  • Act as subject matter expert (SME) regarding the RMS and related applications.
  • On a rotational basis provide 24/7 support for critical issues.
  • PostSecondary Degree with an emphasis on Database Applications Records Management or Information Management and one 1 years postgraduate experience in managing and maintaining electronic records held within a corporate records management system.
    OR PostSecondary Diploma with an emphasis on Database Applications Records Management or Information Management and 2 years postgraduate experience in managing and maintaining electronic records held within a corporate records management system.
    OR 1 year related certificate and 4 years relevant experience. (Equivalent experience may be considered)
  • Advanced ability in understanding and usage of Niche RMS.
  • Working knowledge of other police applications/databases including CPIC ORCA POSSE JOIN MOVES Mugshot Vital Statistics and Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD).
  • Awareness of FOIPP Legislation the Criminal Code of Canada Provincial Statutes and City Bylaws.
  • Thorough knowledge of the business processes used within the EPS and strong understanding of data quality data usages and implications of poor data.
  • High attention to detail and ability to foresee impacts of decisions.
  • Proven ability to adapt in order to manage changing priorities complex information and issues in a timely manner.
  • Strong analytical skills paired with sound judgement.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and customer service skills.
  • Ability to coach mentor orient and train new staff.
  • Ability to critically analyze issues to make decisions recommend viable and effective solutions and summarize and manage information.
  • Applicants will be required to undergo knowledge and/or skills assessment testing.
  • As part of your prehire screening you will be required to complete an Enhanced Security Clearance. Should you accept employment with the Edmonton Police Service you acknowledge and agree to participate in future Enhanced Security ReClearances at scheduled intervals or in any other circumstances exigent or otherwise as required by Human Resources Division.

Hours of Work:
40 hours per week. Staff will be on a rotational schedule with morning shiftsafternoon shiftsand weekend shifts. Staff will also have rotational oncall responsibilities.

Salary Range:
21B Salary Grade: 044 $43.617 $54.961 (Hourly) $3489.40 $4396.90 (Biweekly) $91072.30 $114758.57 (Annually). The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.
