Responsibilities

Peraton requires Network Engineers to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 EOM. This position is located at Hurlburt Field in Florida.

The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract(SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provideUSSOCOM its Component Commands its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs)and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain NetworkOperations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user andcommon device support; provide configuration change license and asset management; conducttraining and perform Install Move Add Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM the CIO/J6 organization and ultimately the enduser who operate around the globe 24x7x365.

Under the direction of the Sr. Network Engineer the Network Engineer performs Tier three network support in accordance with the SIE OPORD. The Network Engineer must be detailoriented and have indepth knowledge of networking hardware and software. Must have extensive experience in areas such as network design and implementation LAN/WAN interfacing security Internet protocols and TCP/IP as well as server and network infrastructure is required. This position tests and analyzes elements of network facilities including power software security features communications devices communications lines modems and terminals and is responsible for the overall integration of the enterprise network. The Network Engineer is also responsible for planning modeling simulation design installation maintenance management and coordination of the network. This position monitors and controls the performance and status of network resources by using software and hardware tools as well as by identifying and diagnosing complex problems and factors affecting network performance. The Engineer must keep their technical skills updated and studies vendor products to determine those which best meet the Governments needs. This position provides guidance and direction for junior network support technicians.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Planning designing engineering configuring maintaining defending troubleshooting and repairing the Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN)
  • Triaging malware LAN WAN VoIP infrastructures voice and data network systems
  • Providing troubleshooting of enterprise WAN/MAN voice data and transmission networks and evaluating the effect of architectural changes on the network
  • Troubleshooting LAN voice and data networks and evaluate the effect of architectural changes on them
  • Assessing business and applications requirements for corporate data and voice networks
  • Planning designing and upgrading network installation projects
  • Establishing and maintaining backup versioncontrol and malware defense systems
  • Troubleshooting network architectures and recommending system fixes and enhancements
  • Making recommendations for leveraging network installations and reducing operational costs
  • Some positions may require shift work and/or an ability to work a nonstandard work schedule to support the USSOCOM mission

Qualifications

  • 2 years with BS/BA; 4 years with AS/AA; 6 years with HS diploma
  • A DoD security clearance at the TS/SCI level is required
  • DoDD 01M IAT II
  • CCNP Collaboration OR CCNP Data Center OR CCNP Enterprise OR CCNP Security OR CCNP Service Provider OR CCDP OR CCIoT OR Aruba Certified Mobility Professional OR Juniper Networks Certified Specialist certifications
