The role will be responsible for the following:
POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Department Head and Dean of Business and Industry Division the fulltime faculty member has as their chief duty the instruction of Economics. The Economics faculty teach classes which are scheduled during the day or evening (credit or noncredit) throughout the year taught in a variety of formats (virtual online hybrid hyflex onground) and at several different locations including off campus sites and local high schools throughout the service area of the College.
The faculty member is expected to facilitate the classroom instructional process evaluate students monitor progress utilize the Learning Management System (LMS) including Faculty Feedback assign midterm and final grades maintain attendance and grade records counsel and advise students regarding academic preparation and career goals work to retain students and maintain required classroom and office hours.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Teaching Excellence and Program Innovation
Serve as a member of the Management Department within the Business and Industry Division for the Teaching Excellence strategic theme of the Colleges Strategic Plan. In this role the faculty member is responsible for the following:
Course and Curriculum Development:
Select texts supplemental documents supplies and other learning resources including Affordable Learning Resources (ALR) and Open Educational Resources (OER); develop supplemental instructional materials; use current technology in preparation creation and delivery of instruction
Create and revise courses and/or curricula as needed; maintain updated course syllabi
Professional Growth:
Remain current within field of assigned instruction related occupational areas and technologies
Acquire maintain and apply knowledge of current instructional methodologies and materials
Attend scheduled college divisional and departmental professional development and inservice activities and participate in annual faculty evaluation process
Service to Students:
Respect the rights of students and access to educational opportunities
Assist in recruitment selection orientation and evaluation of potential students
Assist in formal and informal placement activities for employment and/or transfer to fouryear institutions
Support student activities
Service to the College and Community:
Assist in recruitment and selection of college personnel as assigned
Participate in accreditation assessment and performance funding processes
Support and participate in college/division/department meetings committees organizations and/or task forces to make recommendations in the Colleges decisionmaking processes
Develop and maintain cooperative relationships with colleagues
Strengthen relationships between the college and the community through community outreach activities
Academic Advising
Support Academic Advising Center
Stay current with the relevant Tennessee Transfer Pathways
Participate in regular reviews of relevant Tennessee Transfer Pathways
Assist with collegewide advising as needed
Holistic Student Support
Fiscal Stewardship
Supports the responsible fiscal stewardship of the funds allocated to the Management Department within the Business Division
Organizational Culture
Embraces and promotes the Colleges goals related to organizational culture and belongingness and supports the Business and Industry Divisions efforts to utilize best practices to provide support for students faculty and staff
Maintains an office environment that is open inviting and professional
Perform other jobrelated duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of a Masters Degree in Economics or Masters degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Economics or M.B.A.

Projected Salary Range:
Instructor: $40502 $49610
Assistant Professor: $45040 $56300
