Department Summary

The University of North Texas Health Science Center is one of the three higher education institutions of the University of North Texas (UNT) System with the UNT at Denton and the UNT at Dallas as two other higher education institutions. The UNT System provides highquality education to those in the North Texas region including Fort Worth Dallas Denton and Frisco as well as those from other states. Position Overview

The College of Public Health (CPH) at The University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC) seeks applications to fill a fulltime open rank faculty position in the Department of Population & Community Health. This is a 12month tenuretrack appointment with a primary focus on developing and collaborating for externally funded research and covering graduate education in biostatistics and related fields. The candidate should have earned a doctoral degree in biostatistics statistics or a related quantitative discipline.

The successful candidate should demonstrate a record of independent and/or collaborative research programs or have an emerging record of developing such programs. The candidate will teach graduatelevel biostatistics courses annually. The faculty member will also contribute to course development and curriculum planning advise and mentor graduate students provide service to the department and university and engage in scholarly activities focusing on the scholarship of teaching and learning.

Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate effectiveness in developing and collaborating with research teams to obtain external research funding and a commitment to developing and practicing effective evidencebased teaching strategies tailored to public healthrelated applications.

Minimum Qualifications

Doctoral degree in biostatistics statistics or a closely related quantitative field
Proven graduatelevel teaching experience
Strong commitment to evidencebased teaching practices and student success

Evidence of team science research projects and external funding
Evidence of an identifiable body of peerreviewed publications and citations
Evidence of evidencebased highimpact educational practices and mentoring students
Evidence of mentoring junior colleagues
Experience as an environmental health consultant in academic research or industry settings
Evidence of local institutional and national service records

Preferred Qualifications:
Evidence of a substantial and sustained record of success in externally funded research/scholarly activity
Active R01 equivalent extramural funding
Evidence of a sizable body of research outputs (publications citations programs other scholarly work) and its demonstrated impact
Evidence of innovative evidencebased teaching and mentoring practices and outcomes
Evidence of publicly engaged scholarship implementation science and communitypartnered scholarship and other impactful work that facilitates the uptake of evidencebased practice and research into regular use by practitioners policymakers educators community organizations or academics
