Reports to: Superintendent Supervises: Individuals identified by Superintendent Nature and Scope of Job: Facilitates the development evaluation organization and implementation of assessment curriculum and instructional programs PK12. Communicates and works collaboratively with the leadership team to nurture common understanding and practices in these content areas. Serves as District Title IX & Equality : Hold a MA educational leadership license: either Director Assistant Principal/Principal or other relevant leadership certificate Hold a masters degree in education Posses a minimum of five years of successful teaching experience and leadership experience preferred Demonstrate professional and personal commitment promoting diversity equity and inclusion Demonstrate cultural proficiency in assessing curriculum and instruction Experience in navigating challenging conversations and reaching resolution Understand standardsbased curriculum development best practices program evaluation child growth and development effective instructional strategies classroom management valid assessments and diagnosis and research related to learning Have indepth knowledge of the MA State Frameworks Experience providing relevant professional development Employment Terms: Twelve month work year Salary to be negotiatedJob Functions and Responsibilities: 1. Collaborate with the Superintendent and oversee curriculum planning revision and organization. 2. Hire oversee and evaluate the identified staff members promoting high standards and expectations for staff and students and creating a strong learning environment and academic performance 3. Ensure curricula is diverse and culturally sensitive and as needed implement new materials that improve this area 4. Identify valid and reliable data sources on student achievement analyze the data to determine needs strengths and weaknesses including benchmark assessments and interventions to ensure equity and success for all students and support related decisionmaking 5. Serve as district Title IX Coordinator and assist with building based investigations as needed 6. Develop instructional practices that leverage digital learning and instruction 7. Continue to work with existing educational partners such as ECLC & AEFI and develop new partnerships8. Collaborate with administration to oversee refine and implement a robust multitiered system of support to meet the needs our students 9. Provide professional development and coaching for principals teachers and other staff members to support evidencebased differentiated practices that increase student engagement or other initiatives at the State or local levels 10. Remain current on research and methodology related to curriculum and instruction and disseminate professional information and materials to staff11. Write submit and manage grants on behalf of district and district departments. Find new grant opportunities that meet the goals of the Amesbury Public Schools. Perform various general grant administration functions such as billings budget amendments plan change program evaluation etc. Ongoing monitoring of grant budgets and expenditures goals and monthly performance to ensure targets are met12. Participate on relate district committees and school committee subcommittees 13. Lead district committees for teaching and learning 14. Coordinate and oversee the ELL/ML program 15. Manage entitlement grants including but not limited to Title I Title IIA Title III and Title IV 16.
